Xiaomi Technology has adjusted its marketing strategy to promote its smartphones in Taiwan, shifting its focus to mid-range and high-end smartphones instead of low-priced models in the local market, according to company sales director Henman Lee.
Xiaomi launched recently its new smartphone, the Mi Note, in the Taiwan market, priced at NT$12,499 (US$403). Smartphones launched by Xiaomi in Taiwan previously were all priced below NT$10,000, Lee noted.
Meanwhile, Lee revealed that Xiaomi has delivered samples of its next-generation smart bracelets to Taiwan’s National Communication Commission (NCC) for approval.
Xiaomi has shipped over six million units of its Mi Band in the China market, making it the world’s second largest vendor of smart bracelets.
Xiaomi aims to ship 500,000 Mi Bands in the Taiwan market in 2015, Lee revealed.
